About the role
Hand & Home is seeking reliable, experienced, and confident Disability Support Workers to provide 1:1 support to clients living across Sutherland, Bangor, Miranda, Brighton-Le-Sands and surrounds. This role is best suited to workers who are comfortable supporting individuals with various presentations and who can travel across these local areas.
This role requires support workers who are engaged, attentive, and proactive, with the ability to provide close supervision and maintain safe environments at all times.
This role offers genuine variety and consistent hours for workers who are available across weekdays, before and after-school hours, weekends — with increased hours during school holidays and regular overnight shifts on offer.
You’ll be providing tailored 1:1 support to help clients develop independence, life skills, and meaningful social engagement in both home and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 supervision and support for participants with complex needs
Deliver personal care, including toileting, hygiene, and daily living assistance
Administer medication in accordance with support plans
Implement Behaviour Support Plans and respond appropriately to behaviours of concern
Support clients to participate in community activities, outings, and social engagement
Assist with life skills development and structured daily routines
Maintain clear communication with families and care teams
Complete shift notes and documentation in line with professional standards
What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for workers who are confident, calm, and proactive when supporting clients with complex presentations.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience supporting individuals with Autism (Level 3)
Experience working with verbal and non-verbal participants
Experience supporting individuals with behaviours of concern
Ability to provide close supervision and maintain safe environments
Strong emotional regulation and resilience
High reliability and professionalism
Ability to work independently while remaining connected to the support team
Confidence assisting with learning, life skills, and structured routines
Essential Requirements:
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
Australian Driver’s Licence
Own reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance
