Program Coordinator - Intensive English Centre

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 4, 2026

North Lake Senior Campus (SC) provides students with an alternative approach to Year 11 and 12 schooling. We deliver secondary education programs to both school and post-school-aged students. We are a safe and diverse multi-cultural campus that promotes individual growth, respect, agency and empowerment. Our unique organisational structure allows us to work collaboratively across our operational domains to focus on supporting the whole student, and we work in partnership with them to develop the thinking and learning skills they need to successfully transition to their post school destinations.

In addition to local students, North Lake SC enrols newly arrived migrant and refugee background students aged 16 and over into our Intensive English Centre (IEC). These students have diverse educational and cultural experiences and backgrounds; they are resilient, motivated, and engaged learners. Through the study of a range of core and elective subjects, the students acquire Standard Australian English. They also acquire and develop the academic skills and knowledge they need to succeed in senior secondary Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and Vocational Education Training (VET) courses. Like all our students, they are supported in the planning of their pathways towards further education, training or employment. Many students exiting the IEC remain at North Lake Senior Campus to complete mainstream secondary studies in Years 11 and 12.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint an innovative, collaborative and growth-focused educator who is suitably qualified to lead the IEC. The Program Coordinator IEC should display the capacity to work cooperatively and effectively with members of the senior leadership team to foster and develop individual, team and school-level cohesion, growth, and efficacy.

The successful applicant will ideally possess expertise and leadership in the development, implementation, monitoring and analysis of school initiatives. They will be able to display their capacity to promote team cohesion and foster a strategic vision of a team. The successful applicant would be an educative leader who will model exemplary teaching and learning practices across the IEC and ensure that they are consistent with the strategic and operational challenges and priorities of the school.

The Program Coordinator IEC would work collaboratively with the senior leadership team, and other specialised support staff, to ensure that students feel safe and supported to learn. They will play an active role in monitoring and managing the learning progress and overall wellbeing of IEC students. This position includes a teaching component to be negotiated.

• hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
• obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
