Restaurant Manager

Are you a hospitality professional who loves great service, busy functions and creating memorable guest experiences?

The Maylands Hotel is looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our management team, with a strong focus on functions, events and customer service.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on the floor, understands what excellent service looks like and can bring a team together to deliver it consistently. Working closely with the Venue Manager, Head Chef and broader management team, you will help elevate the execution of our restaurant, functions and events.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Restaurant Manager, you will own the day-to-day restaurant experience while playing a key role in planning and delivering functions and events.

You will:

• Lead exceptional service – Set the standard on the floor and ensure every guest receives friendly, professional and attentive service.
• Drive functions and events – Work closely with the management and kitchen teams to plan, coordinate and execute functions from preparation through to delivery.
• Responsible for generating and responding to enquiries and keeping the function tracker, inbox, and NowBookIt updated.
• Lead and develop the team – Train, coach and support employees to build confidence, capability and consistency.
• Elevate execution – Work collaboratively with the management team to continually improve service standards, presentation, communication and the overall guest experience.
• Manage restaurant operations – Oversee opening and closing procedures, bookings, reservations, stock, presentation and daily service requirements.
• Be hands-on – Lead from the floor during busy services, functions and peak trading periods.
• Support business performance – Assist with rostering, wage management, stock control, wastage and other operational costs.
• Resolve guest concerns – Handle feedback and complaints professionally, confidently and with a genuine focus on achieving a positive outcome.

ABOUT YOU 
We are looking for someone who is genuinely customer-service-centric and takes pride in delivering a polished hospitality experience.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in a Restaurant Manager, Functions Manager, Duty Manager or similar senior hospitality role.
• Strong experience coordinating and executing functions, events and busy restaurant services.
• A genuine passion for customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.
• The ability to remain calm, organised and solutions-focused during busy services.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with the kitchen and management teams.
• Current RSA and RP Badge.
• Availability across a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends.

WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive salary package based on experience, base salary starting at $75,600 plus benefits and entitlements exceeding $20,000.
