Graduate Food Technologist

Healthy Food Crew is seeking a Graduate Product Development Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Epping, VIC. Initially, this is a casual position with the potential to transition to a permanent part time role that offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to launch their career in food technology and safety.

We are on the hunt for our next Product Development superstar who uses technical knowledge to support creative thinking not restrict it.

This is not a traditional technical role. We want someone curious, practical and excited by the challenge of turning ideas into products that can be successfully manufactured.

You do not need years of experience. We are more interested in finding someone who is open-minded, willing to learn and ready to develop products the Healthy Food Crew way.

You will work across both human health food and pet food, supporting clients ranging from startup brands developing their first product through to major supermarket customers.

• Develop new human food and pet treats from concept through to production.

• Turn client ideas and briefs into practical, manufacturable formulations.

• Plan and conduct trials, review results and recommend improvements.

• Explore new ingredients, flavours, textures and product formats.

• Communicate directly with clients throughout the development process.

• Explain technical information clearly and practically.

• Work closely with production, quality, suppliers and management.

• Follow established systems while identifying ways to improve them.

• Create and implement processes that make NPD more organised and effective.

• Help grow Healthy Food Crew’s product development capability.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has qualifications or relevant experience in food technology, food science, product development or a related area.

• Is creative, curious and willing to think differently.

• Is self-motivated, organised and comfortable taking ownership.

• Communicates confidently with clients and team members.

• Can follow systems while also improving them.

• Enjoys working collaboratively as part of an established team.

• Approaches challenges positively and looks for solutions.

• Is willing to learn our approach to product development and manufacturing.

• Is excited by innovation in both the human health food and pet food industries.

• Has excellent comprehension, verbal and writing skills

• You are someone who hears a challenging idea and thinks: “How can we make that work?”

• You are comfortable experimenting, asking questions, learning from setbacks and adapting quickly.

• You may be early in your career or already have industry experience. What matters most is your attitude, creativity, communication skills and willingness to grow with the business.
