Founded in 1882, Brighton Grammar is an Anglican school passionate about developing, inspiring and guiding each boy to achieve his personal best in every way. The School’s cutting-edge teaching and learning techniques, supported by a research centre, attract the best minds in education.
We are proud of the strong traditions of our School, many of which are underpinned by our emphasis on developing a love of music amongst our students. All of our students participate in our compulsory music program from ELC through to Year 8, with the option for boys to continue with their music as an elective in their senior years. Our students are provided the opportunity to participate in ensembles/choirs and our instrumental program is very active.
The role
We are currently seeking applications from experienced and driven professionals to join our thriving Music Department in January 2027 as our Director of Music, ELC-Year 12.
Reporting to the Director of Co-curriculum, the Director of Music is responsible for delivering best practice in choral, instrumental and ensemble music programs, whilst also leading and supporting a dedicated team of music teachers, instrumental music tutors and administrative staff.
In addition to this, an opportunity exists for the successful applicant to lead our strong choral program as our Head of Choral (if suitable).
