About the Role:
Lyell McEwin Hospital sits at the heart of one of South Australia's fastest-growing communities, and the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is committed to delivering care that genuinely reflects the people it serves. This is an opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to bring clinical depth and collaborative energy to a multidisciplinary team making a real difference in northern Adelaide.
Your Role:Working part time on a fixed-term contract through to 30 June 2027, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based social work services as part of the Allied Health Complex Care Team, located at the Lyell McEwin Health Hospital with part of this role providing dedicated social work services at Calvary Hospital, working closely with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to support consumers with complex health and psychosocial needs across acute and community settings.
Your key responsibilities will include:
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment across Lyell McEwin Health Service and Calvary Hospital, supporting patients with complex needs to achieve safe and sustainable outcomes both during admission and following discharge.
To be eligible for this position, you must have an Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.

NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
