About The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst to join our IT team in Melbourne. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in Service Desk or Desktop Support who is looking to further develop their hands-on technical skills in a global professional services environment.
Working closely with end users, IT colleagues and service delivery teams, you will provide frontline support across desktop, hardware, software and collaboration technologies. You'll play a key role in ensuring employees have the tools and support they need to work effectively, while contributing to the ongoing improvement of our IT services and systems.
This position offers excellent exposure to a broad range of technologies and business operations, with opportunities to collaborate with teams across Australia and globally while developing your career within a supportive IT environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide desktop and application support to end users, resolving technical issues and service requests in a timely mannerManage and maintain support tickets, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to service level expectationsSupport the configuration, deployment and maintenance of desktop hardware, software and mobile devicesCoordinate IT onboarding and offboarding activities for employees, including equipment provisioning and account setupPerform routine system maintenance, health checks and operational administration activitiesAssist with the management of IT equipment lifecycle activities, including asset tracking and replacement programsSupport meeting room technology, audio visual equipment and collaboration toolsEscalate and liaise with external vendors and specialist IT teams where requiredParticipate in IT projects and initiatives, providing operational and technical support as neededContribute to the development and maintenance of IT documentation, knowledge articles and operational proceduresCollaborate with local and global IT teams to continuously improve service delivery and customer experienceSupport technology best practices, security requirements and corporate IT standards
About You:
You are a customer-focused and technically minded IT professional who enjoys problem-solving and helping others. You thrive in a collaborative team environment and are looking to build your career within a supportive and fast-paced technology function.
You Will Bring:
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Desktop Support, Service Desk or IT Support roleExperience supporting Windows desktop environments, Microsoft Office applications and end-user devicesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software and user-related issuesExperience working with ticketing systems and managing support requests through to resolutionExcellent customer service skills with a passion for delivering a positive user experienceStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the businessAbility to prioritise workloads and work independently with minimal supervisionExperience configuring and deploying desktop hardware and software is desirableAwareness of IT service management principles and operational best practicesAbility to work effectively within geographically dispersed and virtual teamsA valid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally to regional and interstate officesAustralian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)

Skills & Specifications:
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent) is preferred but not a requirementSome experience working in an IT environment requiredTravel (driving/flying to other Stantec offices (local and interstate will be required), must have valid driver’s license.Suitable for Permanent Residency visa holders or Australia Citizens onlySelf-starter - The ability to work with minimal supervisionDemonstrates an outstanding “customer orientated” service management experienceAbility to build relationships through strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal)Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgement and assertivenessDemonstrates the ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic and sequential approachAwareness of the challenges and benefits of working in geographically and culturally dispersed, virtual teams, and willingness to work cooperatively with others in such teamsProcess orientated, able to work cross functionally in a team environmentExhibit a natural curiosity, passion, and a desire to find ways to apply technology to business challengesPromotes innovation and continual process improvement
