Heavy Diesel Mechanic | Permanent Full-Time & Casual Opportunities

About the role

We are looking for Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our busy workshop team. You'll be responsible for keeping our fleet safe, reliable and ready for service through preventative maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and vehicle defects

• Complete unscheduled repairs and breakdown maintenance

• Use computer diagnostic equipment to identify faults

• Conduct road tests and vehicle testing as required

• Complete inspections and maintenance in accordance with safety and operational requirements

• Maintain accurate service and repair records

• Assist with bus breakdowns and occasional after-hours callouts

• Support and mentor apprentice diesel mechanics

• Maintain a clean, safe and professional workshop environment

About you

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technology / Heavy Diesel Mechanics or equivalent

• 4th Year Apprentices are encouraged to apply

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions and heavy vehicle systems

• Experience using computer diagnostic equipment

• Experience working on buses, coaches or heavy vehicles is highly regarded

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Electrical and auto-electrical experience is highly regarded

• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

• Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship

• Good communication and teamwork skills
