Disability Support Worker

About the role

FIND SUPPORT is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disability.

I am seeking expressions of interest for a specific female participant aged 55-60 years who requires assistance with social services, attending the gym and in home support such as cooking. Shifts would be 2-3 hours in duration.

We do have other participants who need support in different locations however as we are based in Western Sydney, we are specifically looking to expand our workers in the Northern Beaches Region.

Other locations we may have work:

• Camperdown

• Monterey

• Western Sydney
  

What you'll be doing

• Prompting support for personal care

• Assisting with domestic activities such as cleaning, tidying, making the bed, cooking

• Accompanying service users on outings and community activities to promote social engagement and wellbeing

• Maintaining a safe and clean living environment

• Communicating effectively with the participant, their families and other members of the care team

• Respecting and upholding the rights, privacy and dignity of all service users

• Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required

• Adhering to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures including safeguarding requirements

What we're looking for

• A compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable individuals with empathy and respect

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a flexible manner

• Physical capability to assist participants safely

• Reliability and punctuality, particularly important in a casual role where consistency is valued

• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries

• Previous experience in aged care, disability support or community services is highly desirable
