About the role
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. This is a site based position on a 7/7 roster working on a modern fleet of trucks and trailers, supported by our Sarina based workshop. You will be responsible for the servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repair of our heavy vehicle fleet, helping ensure our vehicles remain safe, reliable and compliant.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose, repair and maintain trucks, trailers and associated equipment
Carry out mechanical, pneumatic and auto-electrical diagnostics and repairs
Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
Identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
Ensure fleet vehicles are maintained to a high standard of safety, reliability and presentation
Complete accurate maintenance records, job sheets and associated paperwork
Work closely with drivers, operations and management to minimise downtime
Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
About you
Trade qualification as a Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic and auto-electrical systems
Experience working on heavy off road haulage fleets desirable
Current HR licence – minimum requirement
Forklift licence desirable
Remove and fit wheel assembly RII desirable
Service mine plant and equipment RII desirable
Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete accurate paperwork
Good communication and problem-solving skills
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
A strong commitment to workplace health, safety and compliance
