Medical Receptionist / Patient Services Coordinator

The Eye and Laser Centre Gold Coast is a modern, well established ophthalmology practice in the heart of Southport. We are a multidisciplinary specialist Ophthalmic practice, with a team of Ophthalmologists delivering expert service and care. We're known for being a genuinely collaborative team with a caring culture, clear leadership and strong processes and systems.

As a Patient Services Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients in a high quality specialist setting - not a GP or retail environment. Working with a close knit administration team, you will collaborate daily with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to care for patients and keep the clinic running smoothly.

This is not a retail‑style reception role—attention to detail, calm communication, and a high level of professionalism are essential.

This role is rostered from Monday to Thursday, 25-30 hours per week.

Duties

• Greet patients and manage check ins, appointments, invoicing and payments

• Respond to phone and in-person enquiries with professionalism and empathy

• Maintain accurate patient records in Genie, the patient management system

• Coordinate clinic flow and support doctors and clinical staff

• Liaise with optometrists and external healthcare providers

• Assisting with general administrative tasks as directed by the Clinic Director

• Experience in medical practice/similar administration role preferred, however not essential

• Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, organised approach under pressure

• High attention to detail and accuracy with patient administration

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Experience with Genie/Xestro/Medicare/DVA/Health Insurance preferred

• A current (or willing to obtain) National Police Check
