A rare and exciting opportunity is available for a permanent full-time graphic designer looking to immerse themselves into the world of some of Australia’s most trusted lifestyle magazines. 

Training can take place in December.

Looking to grow your graphic design career with a leading publishing group located in Kew, which specialises in a wide range of magazines from bridal through to wineries and home design? You’ve found the one. 

We currently have a rare opportunity for an ambitious graphic designer to join our team. This is a hands-on and diverse role, perfect for a self-starter looking to further their career and produce a range of stunning pages for some of Australia’s leading magazines. This role will require you to work closely with the company director and editors of the magazine, but you must also enjoy working independently and are required to work full time from the office.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A tertiary qualification in graphic design

• Experience designing for print; specifically creating and exporting print-ready artwork and quality advertisements

• Proficiency with the current Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat for the preparation of commercial print files

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

• Ability to work quickly, moving between multiple projects and briefs seamlessly

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

• Copywriting and proofing ability preferred, but not essential 

Key duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Liaising with editorial and advertising production teams regarding client briefs and magazine themes

• Creating engaging, aesthetic advertisements for clients

• Preparing print-ready artwork from start to finish

• Retouching images for fashion shoots and client projects

• Creating inspiring front covers to provide a point of difference

• Closely proofing and quality-checking all publications prior to production

• Liaising with printers about pre and post print issues

• Developing marketing collateral for promotions and upcoming events, including media kits and logos

Starting Annual Wage:

$60k pro rata + super
