Labourer

We are currently seeking reliable, hardworking workshop labourers and skilled operators to join a busy structural steel and heavy engineering workshop.

We have multiple positions available, and we are looking for people who are hands-on, willing to learn and able to work across different areas of the workshop.

General Requirements – All Roles

• Current forklift licence is mandatory — candidates must be confident operating a forklift on a daily basis.
• Previous experience in a steel, structural steel or heavy engineering workshop.
• Willingness to be cross-trained across multiple machines, including bandsaws, guillotines and press brakes.
• Confident using grinders, magnetic drills and general workshop hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills — staff will be required to complete digital forms, job records and production documentation.
• Ability to read basic fabrication drawings and use a tape measure and basic measuring equipment.
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling structural steel.- Reliable, punctual and committed to working as part of a production team.- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

Position 1 – Sandblaster-

• Hands-on experience in abrasive blasting of structural steel.
• Previous structural steel industry experience is mandatory.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a production environment.

Position 2 – Press Brake / Folding Operator-

• Proven experience operating a press brake/folding machine for sheet and plate.
• Ability to set up tooling and work accurately to specifications.
• Understanding of bend allowances and the ability to work to tight tolerances.
• Guillotine/shearing experience will be highly regarded.

Position 3 – Trade Assistants / Workshop Labourers

Multiple positions available.

• Previous experience assisting boilermakers and welders with fit-up, material handling and general workshop duties.
• Experience working around CNC plasma or tube-cutting machinery is highly regarded.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new machinery.
• Previous steel or heavy engineering workshop experience preferred.

These positions are primary skill areas, not isolated roles.

Everyone will be trained across multiple machines and areas of the workshop. When your main area is quiet, you will be expected to assist elsewhere and keep production moving.

We are looking for people who are flexible, hands-on, reliable and keen to learn, rather than someone who only wants to perform one task.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 6:00am – 4:30pm

Saturday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
