About the role

We are seeking a Rehabilitation Consultant and Employment Consultant to join our team in Sydney, NSW on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal role within our rehabilitation and employment services division, where you will play a crucial part in supporting individuals through their rehabilitation journey and facilitating their successful return to employment. You will work with clients from diverse backgrounds and injury types, providing specialist guidance, coordinating rehabilitation programmes, and liaising with employers to create sustainable employment outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients' lives whilst working within a dynamic, client-focused organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional capacity, rehabilitation needs, and employment potential

• Develop individualised rehabilitation and employment plans tailored to client goals and capabilities

• Provide expert consultation to clients, families, employers, and referral sources regarding rehabilitation strategies and employment options

• Coordinate and liaise with healthcare professionals, employers, training providers, and government agencies to support client rehabilitation and employment outcomes

• Monitor client progress throughout the rehabilitation process and adjust intervention plans as required

• Facilitate workplace assessments and provide recommendations for workplace modifications and accommodations

• Maintain detailed and accurate case documentation in compliance with regulatory and organisational standards

• Contribute to the development of rehabilitation and employment programmes and best practice initiatives

• Provide expert testimony and professional reports for legal proceedings, insurance claims, and compensation matters as required

• Maintain current knowledge of employment legislation, workers' compensation frameworks, and vocational rehabilitation trends

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualifications in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiologist, RN , social worker, rehabilitation counselling, or a related allied health discipline recognised in Australia

• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional regulatory body (AHPRA, ESSA, or equivalent)

• Minimum 3 years' experience in rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, or employment services

• Full onboarding training for those who have no direct relevant industry experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of workers' compensation legislation, return-to-work frameworks, and employment law relevant to Australia

• Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills with the ability to evaluate functional capacity and work-related abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, employers, and multidisciplinary teams

• Proven ability to develop comprehensive rehabilitation and employment plans that are evidence-based and outcome-focused

• Experience with workplace assessment and consultation, including ergonomic and environmental modifications

• Proficiency with case management systems and electronic health records

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases concurrently

• Commitment to professional development and maintaining current clinical knowledge

• Experience in writing detailed clinical and vocational reports

• Desirable: Experience with disability support services, mental health rehabilitation, or injury management programmes
