About the role

UNDERWOOD SMASH NSW PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and skilled Panel Beater to join our team in Botany, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work in the automotive trades sector, specifically in panel beating and vehicle repair. You will play a crucial role in restoring damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction. This position is based on-site at our Botany location, where you will work collaboratively with our team of automotive professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and determine the most effective repair approach using industry-standard techniques

• Perform panel beating work on various vehicle types, including straightening, reshaping, and replacing damaged panels

• Operate specialised panel beating equipment and tools with precision and safety

• Prepare vehicles for painting by ensuring panels are properly aligned and finished

• Work closely with other tradespeople, including spray painters and mechanics, to ensure seamless vehicle restoration

• Maintain detailed records of work completed and materials used for each vehicle

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies whilst on-site

• Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure repairs meet company standards and customer expectations

• Maintain and care for all tools and workshop equipment

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Panel Beater, preferably with several years of hands-on experience in automotive panel repair

• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle structures, panel alignment, and damage assessment techniques

• Proficiency in using panel beating tools, including hammers, dollies, hydraulic equipment, and specialised measuring devices

• Knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to automotive trades

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment

• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues

• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to the Botany location

• Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive panel beating or related automotive trades (preferred)
