Established in 1986, Factory X is a leading Australian fashion retailer with a diverse range of iconic brands, including Gorman, Dangerfield and Princess Highway. Our brands are designed to encourage expression and can be found in-store and online across Australia and New Zealand and internationally.

Located at our head office in Abbotsford, we are seeking a Junior Photographer / Studio Assistant to join our Studio team.

This is a fantastic entry level hands-on role for a graduate or someone early in their career with knowledge of the fashion industry and current trends, who is looking to build their photography and content creation career within a fast-paced, in-house studio. 

You'll support the day-to-day running of our photography studio, assist with e-commerce, campaign and social content shoots across our brands, and benefit from working closely with experienced photographers and our creative team.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with studio setup, pack down and day-to-day operations

• Managing sample movement in and out of the studio, including steaming and dressing garments

• Supporting photographers and videographers with lighting, equipment and on-set requirements

• Capturing flat lays and product imagery to brand standards

• Assisting with e-commerce, campaign and social content shoots, plus behind-the-scenes content

• Basic retouching and deep etching

• Managing digital assets - naming, filing and sending completed imagery through for approval

• Uploading product imagery to Shopify and assisting with website maintenance

What we're looking for

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Capture One

• Good photography skills

• Experience shooting products and flat lays is preferred and social content and video a huge plus

• Ability to edit and retouch imagery

• Experience shooting fashion/ecommerce a big plus

• Strong organisational and time management skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• A willingness to learn and take direction

• Current driver's licence (access to a vehicle preferred)
