The Opportunity

Outrite Hire and Sales is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Workshop & Yard Hand to join our growing team in Eastern Creek.

This is a casual position with the opportunity to progress to full-time employment for the right person. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build practical experience in the plant, equipment and automotive trades industry while working alongside experienced mechanics and technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance and repair of a variety of plant and hire equipment

• Wash, clean and maintain hire equipment to a high standard

• Maintain and keep the yard clean, organised and presentable

• Assist with incoming and outgoing deliveries

• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance on hire equipment

• Assist mechanics and technicians with workshop tasks

• Operate tools and equipment safely and correctly

• Keep the workshop clean, tidy and organised

• Help prepare machines for hire and ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard

• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times

• Learn and develop mechanical and technical skills under the guidance of experienced mechanics

What We're Looking For

• Completion of Year 10 or equivalent

• A genuine interest in mechanical work, plant and equipment

• Enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills

• Good problem-solving and practical skills

• Strong attention to detail

• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

• Good communication skills

• Commitment to workplace health and safety

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions

• A valid driver's licence is desirable

• Previous workshop, yard, mechanical or hire industry experience is an advantage, but not essential
