Solar & Battery Electrician – Melbourne, VIC

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Solar & Battery Electrician to join our growing team in Melbourne. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and repair of residential and commercial solar PV and battery energy storage systems. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Australian Standards, Clean Energy Council (CEC) requirements, and Victorian regulations while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and battery energy storage systems.

• Perform electrical wiring, switchboard upgrades, inverter installations, and system testing.

• Diagnose and repair faults in solar PV, battery storage, and associated electrical systems.

• Carry out preventive maintenance and system inspections.

• Install EV chargers and other renewable energy products where required.

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Ensure all installations comply with AS/NZS standards, electrical safety regulations, and company quality standards.

• Complete commissioning reports, certificates of electrical safety (COES), and other required documentation.

• Liaise professionally with customers, builders, and project managers throughout each installation.

• Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and a safe work environment.

• Participate in emergency call-outs and after-hours work when required.

Essential Requirements

• Current A-Grade Electrical Licence (Victoria).

• Current driver's licence.

• Experience installing and commissioning residential and commercial solar PV systems.

• Experience with battery energy storage systems.

• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

Desirable Qualifications

• Clean Energy Council (CEC) Solar Accreditation or eligibility to obtain accreditation.

• Battery installation accreditation or relevant renewable energy qualifications.

• Working at Heights certification.

• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence.

• First Aid and CPR certification.

• Experience with EV charger installations and smart energy management systems.
