About the role
About Tinybeans
Tinybeans exists to give family memories a home - a private, beautiful place where the small everyday moments are captured, shared with the people who love them most, and kept for good. We are one of the most loved family memory products in the US, trusted by over 1 million families to hold the photos, videos and milestones they never want to lose. Many of our families have been with us for almost a decade.
We are growing, and we are building towards a bigger idea: that a family archive should not just store the past, but tell the story of it.
We are also a publicly listed company, trading on the ASX (ASX:TNY). That means a degree of transparency most companies of our size never take on. Our numbers, our growth and our commitments are on the public record, and the product is held to that standard.
This is a remote-first role, ideally based in Melbourne or Sydney. Tinybeans is a global team with time zone overlap required for US and EMEA collaboration.
About the Role
The Head of Product at Tinybeans is a high-impact leadership role that will shape how families around the world remember their lives together. Working closely with the CEO and executive management team, you will turn our product and company strategy into a focused roadmap that improves the experience for families and drives sustainable subscriber growth, retention and monetisation.
Your primary focus will be Tinybeans. You will also oversee Qeepsake, where the focus is on maintaining a strong, profitable product, protecting the customer experience rather than pursuing aggressive growth.
This could suit an experienced Head of Product in a lean environment, or an exceptional senior/principal product leader ready to step into their first head-of role. You will have real influence over where the product goes, and real accountability for getting it there.
We are a lean, globally distributed team, and you will deliver through an external Melbourne-based development agency rather than an in-house engineering organisation. Expect a hands-on role with meaningful individual contributor responsibilities.
What You’ll Do
Product Strategy
Define and articulate a product strategy for Tinybeans that combines deep user insight, business objectives and a clear point of view on where family memory-keeping goes next.
Keep a constant pulse on user needs, wants and the market.
Run effective prioritisation, weighing impact, effort and trade-offs.
Execution & Delivery
Be obsessed with the user experience. Translate what parents actually do into features woven into everyday life.
Bring a sharp design eye. With a lean team and an external agency, you will often be the final call on UX and visual quality.
Own the product roadmap, resources and timelines end to end, and run a tight, prioritised backlog with our development agency.
Own the product levers that drive commercial performance, establishing success metrics across activation, retention, engagement, conversion, subscriber growth and monetisation.
Leadership & Collaboration
Be the voice of the user in every room you are in.
Partner with marketing, data, engineering, finance and the CEO so product decisions land well across the whole business.
Get the most out of our global team through clear, generous written communication.
Contribute the product narrative to board papers, investor updates and results announcements, working with the CEO and finance so that what we say publicly matches what we are building.
Foster a culture of curiosity and learning.
What we're looking for
Requirements
7+ years in product management, ideally at a US-facing company.
You’ve owned a product roadmap end to end, or a significant product area with genuine autonomy over its direction.
Product experience within consumer apps or similar consumer tech products.
Technically fluent enough to work effectively with engineers, understand constraints and tradeoffs, and challenge estimates and solutions without needing to be an engineer yourself
Experience with subscription or freemium business models, and a working understanding of unit economics.
Proven track record of shipping products users love.
Strong product design sensibility - you understand UX/UI principles well enough to give sharp feedback, sketch ideas, and push for polish, even without being a full-time designer
Experience managing an external agency or distributed development team.
Able to hold a long-term product vision alongside a public reporting cadence, without letting either one distort the other.
Ability to see the big picture while also caring about the details.
Thrive on collaboration and enjoy getting involved alongside your team.
Strong passion for our mission of helping families hold onto what matters - and ideally prior experience in the parenting space.
Treat privacy, security and user trust as core product principles, particularly given the deeply personal nature of the family memories entrusted to Tinybeans.
Ways of working
User-obsessed - you talk to users constantly and let it shape your decisions
Business-minded - you understand unit economics and what moves the needle
Growth-oriented - you think in terms of activation, retention, and expansion, and look for compounding wins, not just one-off fixes
Cross-functional - you build trust across every team, not just engineering
Async-fluent - clear written communication across US, Europe, Australia, and Vietnam time zones
Agile-fluent - comfortable running or working within agile processes (sprints, backlog grooming, prioritization frameworks)
A Few Things Worth Knowing
This is a hands-on role in a lean organisation. You will not have a large team under you from day one.
Tinybeans is the priority, but Qeepsake will still need your attention.
You will manage our Melbourne-based external agency rather than a fully built-out internal engineering team.
We need someone who thinks in outcomes, not just outputs.
