About the role
Your Opportunity
The Senior Financial Crime Compliance Specialist role exists to strengthen how Tabcorp identifies, interprets and meets its AML/CTF and broader financial crime regulatory obligations in a complex and evolving environment.
Sitting within the Financial Crime Strategy & Compliance team, you’ll play a key senior specialist role in second-line financial crime compliance, supporting governance, regulatory readiness and risk-informed decision-making across the business.
Your Role In Action
Reporting to the Head of Financial Crime Strategy & Compliance, you’ll support the design, maintenance and uplift of Tabcorp’s financial crime compliance framework. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across product, technology, customer operations and risk to help ensure financial crime risks are identified early, obligations are clearly understood, and regulatory expectations are consistently met.
This is an advisory role where you’ll be expected to form views, provide practical guidance and influence stronger risk outcomes across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessments and scenario analysisAssessing financial crime risks linked to new or changing products, systems, technologies and customer typesMaintaining and uplifting financial crime obligations, controls and governance frameworksInterpreting AML/CTF regulatory guidance, emerging risks and regulatory developments, including AUSTRAC publicationsProviding advice to stakeholders on financial crime obligations, controls and regulatory expectationsInfluencing stakeholders to strengthen governance, controls and risk outcomesSupporting financial crime compliance and transformation initiativesPreparing clear governance and risk reporting for senior management and Board forumsSupporting the operation of key financial crime governance forums
What You’ll Need To Succeed
You’re a financial crime professional who enjoys working at the intersection of regulation, risk and business strategy. You’re comfortable interpreting obligations, forming views, providing advice and influencing outcomes — rather than executing frontline operational activity.
You’ll bring:
Strong experience in financial crime compliance, risk or assurance, ideally in a second-line or advisory environmentProven capability interpreting AML/CTF regulatory requirements and translating them into practical business expectationsA sound understanding of enterprise financial crime risks, controls and governanceConfidence engaging with stakeholders across risk, technology, product and operationsStrong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear insights for senior audiencesThe ability to work with ambiguity, assess risk and provide pragmatic recommendationsA practical mindset, balancing regulatory expectations with commercial reality
