Aftermarket consultant

About the role

Ferntree Gully Automotive is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Aftermarket Consultant to join our dynamic sales team. This is a full-time position based at our dealership in Ferntree Gully, VIC 3156. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying customer needs, recommending premium aftermarket products and services, and driving sales to enhance vehicle appearance and functionality. You will play a key part in building long-term customer relationships and maximizing revenue opportunities for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with customers to understand their requirements and recommend suitable aftermarket products and accessories

• Present product features, benefits and pricing to customers in a clear and compelling manner

• Prepare accurate quotations and proposals for aftermarket installations and upgrades

• Process sales transactions and ensure all documentation is completed correctly

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals

• Stay informed about current aftermarket product ranges, promotions and industry trends

• Collaborate with the workshop team to ensure customer expectations are met during installation

• Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets and key performance indicators

• Follow-up with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional sales

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in automotive sales or a customer-facing sales role within the automotive industry

• Strong knowledge of aftermarket vehicle products, accessories and modifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly

• A results-driven mindset with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets

• Ability to understand technical specifications and explain complex features to customers

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when handling quotations and documentation

• Proficiency with automotive sales systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Preferred: Experience with vehicle customization, performance upgrades or detailing products
