Trainee Childcare Educator – Study towards Certificate III

We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic candidate to study towards a Cert III in Early Education and Care via an Australian Apprenticeship to join our team in Oatley.

Oatley Red Bear Preschool is a family run boutique early learning centre with an Exceeding rating. With the owner working in the centre, it is a collaborative working environment. We nurture and invest in our teams and provide a real family experience for our employees. We have an established management team that have worked together for over 20 years. We have successfully helped over 50 trainees graduate with their Cert III. We cater for 39 children aged 2-5 years old per day.

We prioritise the safety, wellbeing, and rights of all children and maintain a strong culture of child safety and childcare standards. As part of our commitment, we have a rigorous recruitment and screening process in place, including comprehensive reference checks, Police checks and child-safe employment checks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Will work and study towards a Cert III in Childcare via an Australian Traineeship.

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age to be eligible for this traineeship position.

• Must be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident

• Is an excellent communicator, with well-developed written and verbal skills.

• Proven willingness to learn and improve.

• Passion, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to high quality care.

• Drive for professional success.

• Full Time work commitment with flexibility of hours between 7.30am-5.30pm.

• Minimum education requirement of Year 10 completion.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment for families and support them to feel a sense of belonging to our community.

• Receive 3 hours paid study time per week during work hours.

• Supporting educators with providing high quality care and education.

• Commitment to early years learning and best practice.

• Salary Package 15% above the award offered via Worker Retention Payment

• Position is permanent full-time with a monthly rostered day off (RDO).

• Our hours of operation are 7.30am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.

• Plenty of parking is available and we are a 7 minute walk to Oatley Railway station and shopping village.
