Due to the continued growth of our Allied Health services, we are seeking an experienced Allied Health Assistant with Occupational Therapy experience to join our team.
About the Role
The Allied Health Assistant – Occupational Therapy will work under the delegation, direction and supervision of qualified Occupational Therapists to implement individualised therapy programs.
You may work with participants in the clinic, home, school, early childhood, community and telehealth environments.
This position is ideal for an experienced Allied Health Assistant who has a strong understanding of Occupational Therapy interventions and is confident implementing delegated therapy programs.
Key Responsibilities
As an Allied Health Assistant – OT, your responsibilities may include:
- Implementing Occupational Therapy programs under the direction and delegation of an Occupational Therapist.
- Supporting participants to develop Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills.
- Assisting with dressing, grooming, personal care and daily routines within delegated therapy programs.
- Supporting development of fine and gross motor skills.
- Implementing sensory regulation and sensory-based activities as prescribed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Supporting handwriting, visual-motor and school-readiness activities.
- Assisting participants to develop functional independence at home, school and in the community.
- Supporting executive functioning, organisation, planning and routine-building strategies.
- Implementing social participation and community access goals.
- Supporting participants to practise use of prescribed assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
- Preparing therapy resources, visual schedules, activity programs and other therapeutic materials.
- Providing structured, play-based interventions for children where delegated.
- Supporting participants to generalise therapy strategies across different environments.
- Observing participant performance and providing accurate feedback to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Maintaining high-quality and timely progress notes and clinical documentation.
- Completing pre-session preparation and post-session documentation.
- Communicating professionally with participants, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team.
- Participating in clinical supervision, team meetings and professional development.
- Maintaining confidentiality, professional boundaries and participant dignity.
- Working in accordance with Flourish Holistic Services policies, procedures and NDIS requirements.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced, reliable and highly organised Allied Health Assistant who understands the importance of working within delegated scope of practice.
You should be confident working with participants who may have complex developmental, physical, sensory, psychosocial or functional support needs.

Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance – Occupational Therapy, or another relevant Allied Health Assistant qualification; or
- Current study towards an Occupational Therapy or relevant Allied Health degree with appropriate experience.
- Demonstrated previous experience supporting Occupational Therapy programs.
- Experience within the NDIS, disability, community health or Allied Health sector is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong clinical documentation and progress-note writing skills.
- Ability to follow delegated therapy plans accurately.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining appropriate clinical supervision.
- Professional and respectful communication with participants and families.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Working with Children Check where required.
- National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Valid Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle for community-based services.
