Use your analytical skills to detect financial crime risk, protect members and strengthen trust in the financial system. You'll join the Financial Crime Operations team in Barangaroo, helping the bank identify, assess and respond to money laundering, terrorism financing and sanctions risks.
Why the role matters Financial crime can affect customers, communities and confidence in the financial system. In this role, your work will support effective customer due diligence and transaction monitoring, helping the bank understand customer activity, identify potential concerns and respond appropriately. You'll also support responses to Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) requests, helping ensure the bank meets its regulatory obligations and maintains the highest standards of financial crime prevention.

What you'll do - Conduct AML and KYC reviews using information gathered from customers, public sources and approved source tools.
- Complete Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Customer Due Diligence reviews, including PEP and sanctions screening.
- Monitor transactions, investigate suspicious behaviour and build a clear picture of customer activity.
- Prepare Suspicious Matter Reports where required and respond to requests for KYC information.
- Maintain accurate case, workflow and metric records while managing your allocated work.
- Collaborate across risk, compliance and technology, contributing to quality and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring Essential - Practical experience in AML, KYC or financial crime processes within financial services.
- Experience working with both individual and non-individual customer types.
- Exposure to customer due diligence, transaction monitoring or investigation of suspicious activity.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent approach to quality, procedures and compliance.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- An investigative mindset, with the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
Nice to have - Experience working with funds, trusts, corporate structures or entities across different jurisdictions.
- Exposure to PEP reviews, sanctions screening, escalations or Suspicious Matter Reports.
- Experience completing peer quality reviews and sharing constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with regulatory developments affecting financial services.
