Department:         Specimen Collection

Location:              Hobart and surrounding areas

About The Role:

• Permanent part time roles available - hours per week negotiable, can include weekends

• Shifts are rostered between 7am and 11pm

• Collection of pathology specimens from patients in our collection rooms, hospitals and as part of domiciliary services 

• Store and process pathology specimens

• Patient reception and response to client enquiries

• Record patient information

• Attend to the well-being of patients

• Liaise with patients and referring doctors

• Use of laboratory application software

• Extensive training will be provided to the successful candidates

*Please note that this is not a courier position

Selection Criteria:      

1. Ability to commit to full time training program (4-8) weeks depending upon previous experience)

2. Must be available to work shifts commencing at either 7am or 8am

3. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence

4. Exceptional skills in applying attention to detail

5. Proven ability to act independently within established guidelines, whilst demonstrating initiative and sound judgement

6. A current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
