Advanced Molecular Technologies Pty Ltd (AMT) is an Australian biotech and R&D company seeking enthusiastic and motivated Chemists to support our up-and-coming CRO linked projects on a 6 – 12 month full-time basis.  This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working in a regulated lab environment who can contribute from day one.

The Role

We are looking for a number of organic/medicinal Chemists with varying levels of tertiary qualifications (PhD, MSc or BSc (Hons) are all acceptable) to join our team to support our up-and-coming CRO linked projects on a 6 – 12 month full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting synthetic organic chemistry/chemistry research within a range of CRO projects

• Performing purification of materials to required qualities and standards

• Carrying out analytical and quality control processes, encompassing NMR, HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FT-IR, and other in-house techniques as appropriate

• Hands-on laboratory work

Skills & Experience

• A tertiary qualification (PhD, MSc or BSc (Hons)) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a closely related discipline is essential.  Relevant postdoctoral or industry experience is highly desirable

• Hands-on experience in synthetic organic and/or medicinal chemistry, including compound purification and analytical characterisation techniques is required

• Strong written and verbal communication skill and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate scientific concepts and results clearly to colleagues

• High attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work including flexibility, adaptability, responsiveness and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others

• Effective time management and organisational skills including the ability to maintain accurate laboratory records, manage multiple priorities and document experimental work to a high standard

• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

• Reliable and punctual

• Remuneration will be based on the successful applicant’s experience, skills and qualifications
