About the Role

Supagas are seeking an experienced Cylinder Transport Manager to oversee the supply chain for LPG and industrial gas cylinders across Western Australia. This role reports into the Transport Operations Manager for WA.  The successful candidate will ensure safety, financial and customer service targets at met, challenge and develop current practice and systems.

• Position will be based out of Kwinana (2 days/wk) and Welshpool (3days/wk)
• You will be expected to travel 2-5 days per month
• State based responsibility managing 11 sites, fleet of over 45 vehicles, company drivers & contractors

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe workplace for all staff, visitors and customers reporting all risks / hazards / incidents / near misses and accidents
• Actively participate and facilitate safety risk assessments including Ready for Start-up Review (RFSR), HAZOP, MOC, HAZID and Design reviews
• Responsible for implementing the roll out of Industrial Gas Cylinders across the WA Branch and Dealer/Agent network.
• Analyzing the cylinder distribution network, recommending and implementing transport efficiencies and cost savings for both LPG and Industrial Gas deliveries across WA.
• Support the integration of the Welshpool, Kwinana (DRD) and Regional Branches/Depots to ensure best practice distribution processes are in place.
• Support the Transport Operations Manager and Branch Managers in managing the commercial arrangements and operational activities for all Cylinder LPG and Industrial Gas Distribution contractors, ensuring contracts are current and rates are reviewed in line with contractual obligations
• Work closely with Sales and the Operations team to develop sales strategies that can expand market share and/or margins that leverage existing customer delivery schedules
• Lead a proactive approach with the Sales team to identify key impediments to delivery efficiency and work with all areas to resolve these issues.
• Actively participate in the preparation of budgets and other company reviews as required.
• Provide reports as required on Cylinder Transport Operations while reviewing and enhancing the reporting processes.
• Assist in the Identification, evaluation, implementation and maintaining of existing and new operational technologies
• Management of cylinder transport projects as required.
• Lead the team in developing a commercial focus for all distribution activities including using key data to drive commercial improvements

Preferred Skills

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the LPG / Industrial Gas/ Petroleum industries OR substantial experience in control of Logistics or Transport. Previous staff supervision experience
• A knowledge of the LPG and/or Industrial Gas industry is advantageous
• A knowledge of the Dangerous Goods Transport is advantageous
• Previous staff management experience, preferably including driver operations management
• Able to generate a proactive team attitude
• Excellent organizational skills
