Funtastic Cruises is the Keppel Island's premier Marine Charter company located in the beautiful Keppel Island ​​​waters of Yeppoon, Queensland. Funtastic Cruises operates Sailing catamaran & fast boat adventures providing amazing experiences for our incredible customers and looking to further expand. 

With the addition of Jet Skis to our diverse experiences, we have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Coxswain(s) to join our professional team for an immediate start. Candidates with a Dive Instructor or Dive Master Certificate will be highly regarded. This position would suit a motivated, relaxed, and professional skipper for day/sunset trips and Jet Ski & Dive Vessel Operations. It's a great team working in a relaxed and beautiful environment, in a company that is expanding with a proven reputation for delivering quality trips and memorable experiences.

 Your Role as the Coxswain

You will be part of a professional and fun crew required to operate day and sunset charters, as well as Jet Ski tours for local waters around the Keppel Islands off the Capricorn Coast. Deckhand duties required when not skippering your own trip as part of a 2x crew team.

You will be required to lead and supervise your crew, show care and responsibility for your vessel, and consistently deliver amazing experiences for your guests so hospitality is a must. You'll be working with the owners and other Coxswains to assist with the daily operations and future growth of the business. Fast boat experience highly desirable. You must be flexible, positive with a can do and get it done attitude.  

Opportunities exist for Dive Instructors and Dive Masters with NC1 certificates to work in our On Island Dive Operations in one of the most beautiful and idyllic parts of the Great Barrier Reef.

Skills and Experience

• Coxswain Grade 1NC (or greater to operate a vessel with passengers)

• Jet Ski Guide experience highly regarded

• Dive Instructor or Dive Master Qualifications highly regarded but not necessary

• MED 3 advantageous but not necessary

• Assist with the marine operations for the company

• Ensure all Workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures are followed

• First Aid certificate – Current

• O2 certification

• Knowledge and experience of commercial tourism charters essential

• Have excellent people management skills with a passion for tourism with fantastic customer service skills

• Strong understanding of marine OHS legislation

• Australian Working rights
