Primary objective
Provide comprehensive, confidential, administrative and secretariat support to the Executive and work unit, including
administrative coordination and Ministerial Liaison support.
Context statement
This position is part of the Schools and Regions Team, based in the Alice Springs regional office, and reports to the Senior Director
Education. It supports the delivery of education services across the Central Region, which includes approximately 4,500 students
in 34 government schools and programs located across Alice Springs and remote areas of Central Australia.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide comprehensive administrative and secretariat support to an executive which may include:
2. Liaise in a discreet and confidential manner with a wide range of people including but not limited to, all levels of staff within
the agency, the Minister’s office, external stakeholders, and the general public.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in providing administrative and secretariat support to an executive, including managing calendars,
scheduling meetings, handling correspondence and maintaining confidential files and records.
2. Prior experience operating in a fast-paced environment with strong organisational and time management skills; with the
flexibility to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently under pressure.
3. Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint) and records management systems (TRM)
with a willingness to adopt new technology.
4. Well-developed professional, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to communicate (both written and verbally)
with a diverse group of stakeholders and build positive working relationships with other executives and staff.
5. Attention to detail with ability to delegate and escalate issues, develop creative solutions and seek out positive improvements.
