Yard and Logistics foreman

About the role

As a Yard and Logistics Foreman at Lee Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and seamless operation of loading and delivering of materials for our construction projects. Based in our Preston, VIC facility, this full-time position will see you overseeing the day-to-day management and supervision of our yard operations, including the loading and unloading of goods, inventory management, and the coordination of transport activities.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise and direct the activities of the yard team, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes

• Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring optimal utilisation of yard space and resources

• Coordinate the movement of vehicles and inventory within the yard, maintaining accurate records and documentation

• Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities for improvement in yard operations

• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment

• Procurement of materials and management of service contractors

• Assist with the resolution of any issues or concerns that arise in the yard operations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role within a logistics or manufacturing environment

• Strong knowledge of yard operations, inventory management, and transport logistics

• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and move fast

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team

• Proficient in the use of relevant software

• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to health and safety regulations
