Sector Manager Business and Innovation

About the role

JASANZ is seeking a highly capable and motivated Sector Manager to manage our Business & Innovation sector. This role is instrumental in supporting the development, evaluation, and oversight of accreditation schemes that drive innovation, quality, and security across a range of industries. You will work at the intersection of technology, standards, and policy—to strengthen the role accreditation can play to meet stakeholder quality assurance needs. The demands for stronger governance across Australia and New Zealand include information security, artificial intelligence, privacy, food and environmental systems. You will collaborate with government, industry, internal teams, accredited bodies, and international stakeholders to support the delivery of robust, future-focused accreditation services that promote trust and excellence in the marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of accreditation schemes in areas such as Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), Artificial Intelligence Management Systems, Quality, Food and Environmental Management Systems, Asset Management and Privacy Frameworks

• Interpret and apply international standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17067, ISO/IEC 17021, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 42001)

• Develop conformity assessment competence to lead future high impact assessments

• Provide expert accreditation advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government and industry policy needs to help grow the role accreditation can play to support

• Participate in thought leadership including participation in industry events and forums within the sector and throughout the broader quality assurance ecosystem

About you

• Baseline security clearance or ability to obtain one

• Domain expertise in Business and Innovation (Technology, Information Security, Artificial Intelligence)

• A strategic mindset and the ability to stay ahead of emerging trends across the sector

• Friendly, professional presence with the ability to navigate complexity and build trust

• Strong organisational and reporting skills to keep others informed

• Ability to perform conformity assessment services in accreditation, with considerable knowledge of the Australian / New Zealand regulatory environment
