About the role
Reporting to the Head of Strength & Conditioning, with strategic oversight from the Director of Performance, the Sport Scientist is responsible for collecting, integrating and interpreting physiological, biomechanical and performance data to support athlete development, physical preparation and return-to-performance outcomes across the Football Program.
The Scope Of The Role Will Include
Managing athlete monitoring systems, including GPS, training and match load, wellness and readiness dataDelivering physiological and biomechanical testing, profiling and assessmentDeveloping individual and position-specific performance benchmarksAnalysing training exposure and athlete response to support physical preparationSupporting return-to-performance testing, profiling and reportingDeveloping performance dashboards, databases and reporting systems in partnership with the Football Data Intelligence Manager
This is a full-time opportunity commencing 1 November. Weekend work during the AFL season will be required, with rostered days off provided to support work-life balance.
What You Will Bring

A degree in Sport Science, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Human Movement or a related disciplineAt least three years' experience in elite or high-performance sport, with strong capability across GPS, athlete monitoring, force platforms and performance testingA solid understanding of physiology, biomechanics, training load, fatigue, adaptation and recovery, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsCoding and analytical capability, particularly R, with SQL and/or Python highly regardedCurrent or willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
A Masters or PhD, professional team-sport experience, Strength & Conditioning qualifications and experience developing automated reporting or performance dashboards would be highly regarded.
