Project Engineer

Osborne Richardson is proud to partner with a growing northern-suburbs Melbourne council to appoint a Project Engineer into their Delivery and Assets team.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on engineer to take ownership of civil and building capital works projects — roads, footpaths, drainage, buildings and bridges — acting as Superintendent's Representative from planning through to handover.

Key details:

1. Band 6, $64.02/hr + Super
2. Contract role, minimum 6 months, almost certainly extending to 12 months
3. Based at Greensborough Service Centre
4. Start mid-late September 2026

What you'll be doing:

• Supervising contractors and administering civil and building construction projects within budget and timelines
• Undertaking Superintendent / Superintendent's Representative functions
• Reviewing and approving contractor progress claims and variations
• Assessing Safe Work Method Statements and Inspection & Test Plans prior to and during works
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on project scope, cost and quality
• Maintaining accurate site records, diary notes and progress photographs

What you'll bring:

• Degree or diploma in Civil/Building Engineering (or substantial relevant construction experience in lieu)
• Demonstrated experience supervising civil or building construction projects
• Sound knowledge of OH&S, environmental and traffic management requirements
• Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Current driver's licence (vehicles up to 4.5T GCM)
• Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History Check
