About the role
About The Role
Angels Care is seeking a qualified Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans for NDIS participants who have complex support needs, including those with a history of behaviours of concern.
You will work within the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission's restrictive practices framework, ensuring all behaviour support plans are compliant, participant-focused, and designed to reduce and ultimately eliminate the use of restrictive practices.
This is a meaningful, specialist role suited to a practitioner who is passionate about improving quality of life for people with disability. Supervision, professional development, and peer consultation are provided.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessments (FBAs) and analysis of behaviours of concern Develop individualised, evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support plans Ensure behaviour support plans comply with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements Oversee implementation of restrictive practices authorisation processes where applicable Provide training and coaching to support workers and families on PBS plan implementation Monitor outcomes, review plans regularly, and adjust strategies based on data Maintain thorough clinical documentation and submit required reports to the NDIS Commission Collaborate with allied health, support coordination, and management teams
Required Qualifications & Checks
Relevant tertiary qualification (Psychology, Social Work, Speech Pathology, OT, or related discipline) Endorsed as a Proficient or above Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (or actively working towards this) Current NDIS Worker Screening Check NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle Right to work in Australia
Preferred Skills & Experience
Provisional or full registration with AHPRA (Psychology, OT, Speech) or AASW (Social Work) Experience writing behaviour support plans that include regulated restrictive practices Formal training in Positive Behaviour Support frameworks Experience supporting participants with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, or acquired brain injury
