About the role
We are a small family owned business seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder specialising in Architectural Metalwork to join our team on a full-time basis at our St Marys, NSW facility. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected engineering company where your expertise in fabrication and welding will be valued and utilised on diverse architectural projects. You will play a key role in producing high-quality metalwork that enhances both commercial and residential structures, working with modern equipment and alongside a professional team committed to excellence.
Key responsibilities
Fabricate and weld architectural metalwork components to precise specifications and drawings
Prepare materials and components for welding, including cutting, grinding and fitting
Perform various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick) on different metal types and thicknesses
Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards, specifications and safety requirements
Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications accurately
Operate fabrication equipment including angle grinders, band saws, drill presses and welding machines
Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and production targets
Perform routine maintenance and care of tools and equipment
What we're looking for
Current welding certification or ticket (such as AW or equivalent) demonstrating competency in welding practices
Proven experience as a fabricator/welder, preferably with architectural metalwork or similar fabrication work
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
Proficiency with welding equipment and fabrication machinery
Solid understanding of health and safety practices relevant to welding and metal fabrication
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
Physical fitness to perform manual work, including lifting and working in various positions
Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to different project requirements
