About the role
About the RoleAs a Case Manager, Criminal Assets Management, you will manage complex cases involving restrained and forfeited criminal assets, helping ensure assets are preserved, administered and disposed of in accordance with legislative requirements and community expectations. Working closely with the Australian Federal Police, government agencies, legal representatives, service providers and internal stakeholders, you will assess matters, investigate issues and provide expert case management support. The role delivers fair, timely and evidence-based decisions, high-quality stakeholder engagement, and effective management of high-value assets. Through your work, you will contribute to protecting the integrity of Australia's criminal asset confiscation framework and returning value to the community.
This recruitment process is being conducted to fill an immediate non-ongoing vacancy. A merit pool may also be established to support future ongoing recruitment needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesUnder guidance, the Case Manager will: Assess, approve and issue applications in accordance with legislation, established operational practices, policies and procedures. Identify and escalate complex issues Establish commercially sound arrangements for the ongoing preservation and timely disposal of high value criminal assets, delivering public value. Produce high level business correspondence and status reports to key stakeholders. Liaise with AFSA clients and stakeholders, government agencies external service providers, legal representatives, and professional bodies. Maintain corporate and legislative records in accordance to established requirements (NPII, trustee file management, case notes). Identify and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices, process improvement and strategies to effectively manage complex issues.

Qualifications, accreditations, and experienceTertiary qualifications in Law, Accounting, or relevant discipline from an Australian tertiary institution (or comparable overseas institution)Demonstrated experience gained within the Insolvency or Finance Industries are highly desirable.
