Accordingly, they have become Launceston's most successful and established funeral care provider and are now looking to appoint a Funeral Director to join their team. The staff member we are seeking will share a vision of providing the best funeral service to our client families. As part of a family owned and operated company, there is an expectation you will provide leadership in all aspects of a funeral directors work, incorporating business development, public relations and a high customer service image.
Applicants should possess a mature, caring and understanding nature, together with well-developed interpersonal skills. A high standard of presentation and communication is essential.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Discussing and planning funeral details with bereaved families.
Managing the complete administrative component of the funeral service.
Conducting funerals and viewings with families and providing comfort and service.
Some on call and weekend work required.
Transfer of deceased person as required.
No previous industry experience is required; however, it will be essential that you are a warm, compassionate, well presented person who has an empathetic approach, be physically fit, proven skills in coordination and people/relationship management, be at ease working within a funeral, cemetery and crematorium environment. Previous experience with Microsoft Office and a current full unrestricted drivers license is required.
You will be required to prioritise and work effectively under pressure, have excellent attention to detail and impeccable customer service skills. You will hold or be willing to obtain Tasmanian RSA and food handling certificates.
