Senior People Operations Advisor

We're looking for someone who combines strong operational capability with a continuous improvement mindset. Someone who enjoys getting things done, thinks critically, asks good questions and doesn't settle for "that's how we've always done it."

This is a role for someone who can be trusted to take ownership. You'll manage key People operations activities across the employee lifecycle while identifying smarter, more efficient ways of working that improve both the employee experience and how our People team operates.

You'll work closely with the broader Hamilton Locke People team, taking ownership of important operational work while bringing sound judgement, maturity and a practical approach to solving problems. You'll be encouraged to challenge processes where it makes sense, streamline administration and help us continually improve how we deliver People services.

What you'll be doing

No two days will look the same.

You'll play an important role in ensuring our People Operations function runs smoothly while supporting the continuous improvement of our processes, systems and employee experience.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Managing People administration across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding and employment changes.
• Acting as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders, providing timely, practical support on People-related queries.
• Taking ownership of People Operations activities, ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently and with minimal supervision.
• Reviewing existing processes to identify opportunities to simplify, streamline and improve the way we work.
• Using technology and AI to reduce manual administration and improve efficiency where appropriate.
• Supporting improvements to People systems, documentation, templates and reporting.
• Coordinating People initiatives and projects from planning through to implementation.
• Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity across our systems.
• Preparing reports and analysing People data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Working closely with the wider People team to remove operational burden and improve service delivery.
• Bringing fresh thinking, sound judgement and practical solutions to everyday challenges.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who enjoys operating at the heart of a busy People team. You'll be organised, analytical and naturally proactive, with the maturity to work independently and the confidence to take ownership.

You'll likely have experience in HR administration, People Operations or a similar advisory role, but just as importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys improving the way things work.

You'll bring:

• 3+ years' experience in HR administration, People Operations or a similar HR Advisory role.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent judgement and the confidence to make decisions within your remit.
• A proactive, self-starting approach—you don't wait to be asked; you take ownership.
• A continuous improvement mindset and a genuine interest in making processes simpler, smarter and more effective.
• The ability to identify issues, think through solutions and follow them through to completion.
• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
• A customer-focused approach and a genuine desire to provide an outstanding employee experience.
• Confidence working with HR systems and technology, with an interest in using AI and automation to improve productivity.
• The ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment.
• A collaborative approach combined with the ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgement.
• Experience with HRIS platforms, reporting or process automation tools will be highly regarded.
