Derivatives Sales (Interest Rates, FX & Commodities)

A leading financial institution is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Derivatives Sales to join its Markets team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a markets professional to take ownership of a derivatives portfolio across Australia and New Zealand, delivering risk management solutions to a diverse client base. With exposure across interest rates, foreign exchange, and commodities, the role offers broad market coverage and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, relationship teams, and clients to drive revenue growth and deliver exceptional client outcomes.

As a senior member of the team, you will also play a key role in mentoring colleagues, sharing market expertise, and contributing to strategic business initiatives.

• Originate and execute interest rate derivative transactions across an allocated client portfolio.

• Develop a deep understanding of client exposures and risk management requirements.

• Provide tailored hedging and risk management solutions aligned to client objectives.

• Identify opportunities across interest rate, FX, and commodity markets.

• Drive product growth and achieve revenue targets.

• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the transaction lifecycle.

• Ensure all solutions are delivered within regulatory, governance, and product suitability frameworks.

• Support and mentor junior team members while contributing to a strong sales culture.

You are a relationship-driven markets professional with strong commercial acumen and a track record in derivatives sales. You enjoy working directly with clients, identifying opportunities, and delivering solutions that create long-term value.

• Degree qualified in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline.

• RG146 compliant with AFMA accreditation (or equivalent).

• Proven experience in interest rate and/or derivatives sales.

• Strong understanding of interest rate products and risk management strategies.

• Exposure to FX and commodity markets is highly regarded.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively while managing a portfolio independently.
