About the role
ROLE SUMMARY: The Operational Training Standards and Assurance Manager will play a key role in the implementation of the Operational Training Roadmap (OTR). The OTR is a 5-year strategy which sets out an evidence-based path to build a sustainable training system that enables members to gain, maintain, and apply the skills required to meet our legislative control and support agency obligations to prepare and protect the community. The Operational Training Standards & Assurance Manager owns the technical training system: frameworks, standards, endorsement rules and the trainer/assessor workforce. This role will drive implementation of aspects of the OTR related to building and maintaining a highly capable Training workforce. Programs of work will focus on training standards framework design, endorsement and currency rules, trainer/assessor workforce model, and calibration and assurance systems. As part of the role there may be meetings outside ordinary hours on weeknights or weekends, additionally occasional travel is a requirement of the role
WHO WE ARE: Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events. As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents
