About the role

Santa's Wonderland is seeking an experienced HR Manager and Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team in a casual capacity. Based in Wayville, SA 5034, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our human resources operations and contribute to the overall success of our organisation. As HR Manager and Assistant Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing HR strategies that support our business objectives and foster a positive workplace culture. This position sits at a strategic level within our management structure, ensuring that our people practices align with our company values and operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment and schedule interviews. Coordinate the onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent

• Provide strategic HR advice and support to senior management and operational teams

• Administer employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution

• Management of hourly records, Oversee payroll and coordinate with book keeping management for payroll.

• Coordinate training sessions

• Maintain compliance with employment legislation, awards and workplace relations requirements

• Support the HR Assistant Manager in day-to-day HR operations and administrative tasks

• Prepare HR reports and analytics to inform strategic decision-making

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in a human resources management role within a similar or larger organisation

• Demonstrated expertise in recruitment, employee relations, performance management and workplace compliance

• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, awards and industrial relations requirements

• Proficiency with HR management systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Sound judgment and confidentiality in handling sensitive HR matters

What we offer
We are seeking a dedicated HR Manager for a short-term engagement of three months, with the following timeline:

- Recruitment: Starting in October

- Onboarding: In November

- Event Management: Serving as the onsite HR Manager during our December event, including payroll setup from December 24th to 31st.

This casual, short-term position requires full participation throughout the engagement period. We are looking for someone who can commit to staying in this role for each event annually over the next 1-3 years, providing continuity and expertise for our HR needs.

- Santa Photo Pod Experience: We will have designated areas where families can meet Santa for photos. This requires recruitment of friendly staff to manage the photo pod, along with skilled photographers and, of course, Santa performers.

- Amusement Rides: Our event features several amusement rides, requiring ride attendants and operators to ensure safety and enjoyment for all guests.

- Ice Skating Rink: An ice skating area will be a highlight, needing attendants to assist skaters and maintain a safe environment.

- Retail and Customer Service: To enhance the shopping experience, we will recruit retail attendants and customer service staff to assist guests with purchases and inquiries.
