About the role
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia (the Guild) is a member organisation representing the owners of community pharmacies. Our members form a unique network of trusted healthcare professionals across Australia. We are committed to offering our staff a supportive, flexible, and rewarding working environment and conditions.
The Guild team is incredibly welcoming and generous with knowledge sharing – we want you to feel a part of the Guild family as soon as you walk in the door! We embrace all people, and you can feel comfortable to be yourself with us.
Our culture is underpinned by our core values of Authenticity, Connection and Excellence, which guide how we work with each other and deliver for our members. We believe in respecting and caring for people, doing what we say we will do, and achieving more together.
We invest in the development of our people through a focus on professional development and exposure as well as opportunities for growth. We care about where you're going and are keen to help you get there.
About The Role!A key member of the Marketing & Communications team, the Australasian Pharmacy Editor is responsible for leading and growing the Guild's flagship publication, Australasian Pharmacy, across both print and digital channels. You'll play a vital role in delivering engaging, high-quality content that informs, educates and connects community pharmacy owners across Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled editor and storyteller who is passionate about journalism, publishing and building audience engagement. You will oversee the bi-monthly print magazine from concept to publication, develop compelling multimedia and digital content, drive subscriber growth, and build strong relationships with contributors and industry stakeholders.
Working closely with the broader Marketing & Communications team, you will help shape industry conversations, identify emerging trends and deliver content that supports the Guild's advocacy, communications and member engagement objectives. The role offers a unique opportunity to combine strategic thinking with hands-on editorial leadership in an industry that makes a genuine difference to the health outcomes of Australians.
This role is a full-time, ongoing opportunity based at the Guild's National Secretariat in Barton, ACT.
About You!You are a talented editor and communicator with a passion for storytelling and producing high-quality content. You enjoy uncovering interesting stories, translating complex topics into engaging content, and creating meaningful connections with readers.
You have exceptional writing and editing skills, coupled with a strong eye for detail. You take pride in producing polished, accurate and compelling content across both print and digital formats.
You are highly organised and thrive in a deadline-driven environment. You can manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple contributors and oversee publication schedules while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Your strong interpersonal skills allow you to build trusted and productive relationships with contributors, industry stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues. You enjoy collaborating with others and bringing diverse perspectives together to create great content.
Experience in journalism, publishing, editing or content production will set you up for success. Experience or familiarity with the pharmacy, healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors will be highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications or a related discipline are desirable.
