The Role
The Team Leader Better Living drives the provision of rehabilitation interventions and programs in the Forensic Hospital, coordinating contemporary, effective and recovery orientated mental health rehabilitation services for patients in The Forensic Hospital (TFH). The position will support and facilitate recovery initiatives and maximise opportunities for rehabilitation through operational oversight of multidisciplinary staff that provide support, recreational, and physical health care as per TFH governance structures. The position plays a lead role in duties designed to achieve individual recovery, focused on identified goals, in order to maximise opportunities for health and wellness; and achieving progress through evidence-based rehabilitation.
Essential Criteria
A degree and/or post graduate qualification in an allied health profession or a related field.Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of best practice rehabilitation principles and current models of practice in forensic mental health for adults and adolescents.Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating individual and group clinical rehabilitation interventions for persons with a mental illness in an inpatient setting.Proven excellence in interpersonal and relationship management skills including the capacity to successfully relate to all levels of managers and staff as well as promoting community linkages and partnership building with clinical services, government, and non-government agencies.Proven capacity to manage multi-disciplinary groups and build a strong collaborative culture.
Our Location, Team, and Service
The Forensic Hospital is a high-secure forensic mental health facility in New South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional, and high-risk civil patients.
A multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals are dedicated to providing a care across the clinical spectrum, from high dependency and acute care, to long stay and rehabilitation care.

A mandatory and comprehensive two-week, full-time orientation is provided for all new staff at Forensic Hospital. All days are paid. The next intake dates will be 7-18 September 2026 and 12-23 October 2026.
