About the role
Public cardiac care is expanding in Central Queensland, and so is our team.
Our team will deliver contemporary, patient-centred care in a brand-new Cardiac Hybrid Theatre, expanded Cardiology Ward and dedicated Cardiac Investigations Unit.
Our significant cardiac expansion is now open, bringing together a state-of-the-art Cardiac Hybrid Theatre, expanded Cardiac Investigations Unit and dedicated 12-bed Cardiology Ward. These contemporary facilities are increasing access to specialist cardiac care locally and allowing more Central Queenslanders to receive the investigations, procedures and treatment they need closer to home.
The Cardiac Investigations Unit delivers a broad range of diagnostic services including echocardiography, exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, exercise stress testing, tilt table testing and ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring.
You'll join a growing multidisciplinary team of Cardiac Physiologists, Cardiologists, Nursing, Administration and other health professionals, with opportunities to work across an expanding range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac services, develop advanced skills and contribute to the ongoing growth of cardiac care in Central Queensland.
As a Senior Cardiac Physiologist, you will provide high-level cardiac diagnostic services across inpatient and outpatient settings, with a strong focus on Echocardiography. Working with a high degree of clinical independence, you will manage complex investigations while contributing to clinical education, quality improvement, research and service development. You'll also support and supervise developing clinicians and have the opportunity to contribute to an expanding cardiac service, including the introduction of Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory services.
We are specifically seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist with advanced skills and qualifications in Echocardiography.
You will hold a tertiary qualification in science/applied science or equivalent, with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology, together with the QUT Graduate Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac), or current enrolment in this qualification. You will also be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
