About The Role

As Security Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing NIOA's security framework, security clearance processes, regulatory compliance obligations and physical security systems. You will work closely with Defence, the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency, Defence Industry Security Program and internal stakeholders to ensure security requirements are effectively embedded across the business.

What You'll Do

Managing NIOA's security programs, policies and compliance frameworksProcessing and administering AGSVA security clearances and personnel vetting requirementsPerforming Security Officer responsibilities under the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP)Developing, reviewing and maintaining security policies, procedures, manuals and work instructionsConducting security risk assessments and supporting security investigationsManaging security incidents, non-conformances and remediation activitiesMaintaining security registers, access control systems, CCTV networks and facility security arrangementsProviding security advice and briefings to employees and leadersSupporting onboarding, offboarding and personnel security governance activitiesProducing compliance reporting, maintaining accurate documentation and supporting audit activities

Qualifications

Significant experience working within the Defence sectorDemonstrated experience managing AGSVA security clearances, personnel vetting or related security clearance processesStrong working knowledge of the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and Defence security requirementsExperience developing and maintaining security documentation, procedures and compliance recordsStrong administrative, governance and record management skillsExperience supporting security risk management, investigations or compliance activitiesAdvanced attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential informationStrong written communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skillsExperience working as a Security Manager, DISP Security Officer, Company Security Officer (CSO), Facility Security Officer or Defence Security SpecialistCertificate IV in Government Security or similar qualification
