Integrative GP

About the role

Wave Functional Health is seeking an experienced Integrative GP to join our growing team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to practise medicine in a way that aligns with your values, combining conventional general practice with evidence-based functional and integrative approaches. You will be based in Robina, QLD 4226, working within a progressive healthcare environment that prioritises patient-centred care and preventative medicine. This role offers flexibility and autonomy whilst contributing to a collaborative team dedicated to optimising patient health outcomes through a holistic approach to medical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients, utilising both conventional and integrative medicine approaches.

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including detailed health histories and functional medicine investigations where appropriate.

• Develop personalised treatment plans that address root causes of illness and promote long-term wellness.

• Prescribe medications and recommend evidence-based supplements, nutritional interventions and lifestyle modifications.

• Educate patients about preventative health strategies, nutrition, stress management and other modifiable risk factors.

• Collaborate with allied health practitioners and specialists to ensure coordinated, multidisciplinary care.

• Maintain detailed and compliant medical records in accordance with professional standards and regulations.

• Stay current with advances in functional and integrative medicine through ongoing professional development.

What we're looking for

• A current and valid Australian medical registration with General Practice registration (or eligibility to obtain)

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a General Practitioner in Australia

• Formal training, qualifications or substantial experience in functional medicine, integrative medicine, or complementary health practices

• An interest in bioidentical hormone replacement

• Strong clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills in primary care

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex health concepts to patients in an accessible way

• A genuine passion for preventative medicine and patient empowerment

• Ability to work autonomously whilst maintaining strong collaboration with the broader healthcare team

• Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of current evidence-based practice

• A holistic, patient-centred philosophy aligned with functional and integrative medicine principles

• Preferred: additional qualifications or certifications in functional medicine, clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, or related fields
