About the Department
Caulfield Pain Management and Research Centre (CPMRC) is part of the DHHS Health Independence Program. It is a multidisciplinary outpatient service providing specialist assessment, education and intervention to patients with a diagnosis of persistent and chronic pain (more than 3 months duration). The centre aims to assist patients to reduce the impact of persistent pain by optimising pain treatments, improving function and promoting self-management.
About the Role
Applications are invited for the position of Specialist in Pain Medicine (Fractional) at Bayside Health to work 7 hours per week for a fixed term period of 12 months. The position involves working in an outpatient setting, attending multidisciplinary team meetings, providing support to trainees and assessing patients for pain interventions (where appropriate).
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:
• Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice
• Fellow of the relevant college (eg. Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine or Rehabilitation Medicine)
• Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Pain Medicine
• Meeting Bayside Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Pain Medicine
• Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills
• Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels
• Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/ other teams.
