About the role

Elite Pool Covers is seeking a skilled Fabricator & Welder to join our team on a full-time basis at our Balcatta, WA facility. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of our manufacturing operations, where precision, quality, and technical expertise are essential. As a Fabricator & Welder, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials into high-quality pool cover components and finished products. Your work will directly impact the durability and performance of our products, making this a pivotal role in our commitment to excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld Stainless Steel & Aluminum using various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and arc welding

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication of parts

• Measure, cut, and shape metal materials to precise dimensions using power tools and equipment

• Perform quality inspections on welded joints and fabricated components to ensure they meet industry standards and customer specifications

• Understand basic 24v DC Wiring

• Maintain and operate welding equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning safely and efficiently

• Assemble metal frameworks and structures, securing components with fasteners or welds as required

• Prepare surfaces through grinding, cleaning, and degreasing prior to welding

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality targets

• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to management

What we're looking for

• Current welding certification or qualification recognised in Australia (e.g., CUWELD or equivalent certification in MIG, TIG, or arc welding)

• Proven experience as a welder, fabricator, or in a similar metalworking role within the manufacturing or trades industry

• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively

• Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work that meets strict tolerances

• Sound understanding of health and safety standards, particularly those related to welding and metalwork

• Physical fitness and ability to work in a workshop environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy materials

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

• Reliability and a strong work ethic with the ability to meet production deadlines

• Experience with pool equipment, pool covers, or related manufacturing is highly desirable

• Knowledge of metal properties and appropriate joining techniques for different materials is advantageous
