About the role
As Venue Manager, you'll be the central point of contact for the delivery of events across Dockside and L'Aqua — operating independently and in close partnership with our Sales and Coordination teams. You'll lead front-of-house delivery on the floor, manage Function Managers and staff, and ensure every event runs smoothly from bump-in to bump-out.
Key responsibilities
Operate independently as the central point of contact for the delivery of events, liaising with clients, customers and key points of contacts and suppliers.
Provide excellent client liaison and customer service, ensuring client event requirements are met.
Develop and implement innovative solutions to client problems, meeting their needs as well as those of the venue.
Provide guidance to suppliers and contract staff regarding Dockside venue and health and safety requirements.
Prepare accurate and detailed event reporting information to feed back to the Head of Venues (Sales).
Manage rostering, training and performance management of staff, including contract staff (e.g. cleaning, catering, event production and security), ensuring the highest level of standards are met.
Lead the allocation, training and performance management of FOH Function Managers and wider FOH staff.
Administer scheduling and rostering for Function Managers and FOH teams, including fortnightly forecasts and weekly actuals.
Control event expenditure within budgetary frameworks for staffing rosters, maintenance provision, and manage staffing productivity against benchmarks.
Act as first point of contact for venue repairs, maintenance and cleaning requests, ensuring the highest standards are maintained across both venues.
About you
Minimum of 3–5 years' experience as a function or venue manager within an establishment and/or high volume service operation.
Current RSA certificate.
Be able to work at a fast pace and think on your feet at all times.
Excellent people and time management and organisational skills.
Ability to maintain work relationships and provide superior customer service.
Able to work closely and efficiently with internal departments.
Experience in end of function and shift reconciliations.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Experienced in problem solving and client management.
