About the role
The Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA) is the government-recognised professional body and registration board for music therapists in Australia. We support more than 950 registered music therapists through professional standards, education, advocacy and member services. Our mission is to enable, advance and advocate for excellence in music therapy on behalf of our members and the communities they serve.
The Project Officer leads the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of initiatives that advance AMTA’s strategic and organisational priorities. The role requires strong project management, research, analysis, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, together with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, distributed organisation.
Working closely with the CEO, the role translates approved priorities into clear project plans, coordinates stakeholders and activities, monitors progress, manages project documentation and supports timely, high-quality outcomes.
The Project Officer also has oversight of AMTA’s governance and policy framework, including AMTA’s policy version control and support for the development and review of policies that ensure AMTA has efficient and effective business systems and processes. Liaison and connectivity with board sub-committees, is critical to the success of this role.
